I had my first encounter with the auditing profession during my one-year internship at a bank. I was fascinated by the way in which the auditors manage to get an overview of so many documents so quickly. So I took an auditing course at my university, so that I could get to know more about it. I found the content of the course very interesting. So I was sure then and there that I wanted to work for Ernst & Young. And by attending the recruiting camp MATCH, I managed to achieve this goal. As an auditor, my main task consists of auditing banks. In addition to this, I was able to participate in an extensive consulting project this summer.
In my profession, you’re constantly in contact with people, be it clients or colleagues. I particularly enjoy working in a team; you’re always surrounded by young people and often work in an international environment. My job is full of variety and I’m constantly growing and learning more. Further education is essential because you often have to grasp a new subject very quickly, even if you’d never even heard of it before. All of this adds up to a job that I really enjoy doing. My advice to anyone just starting their career is simple: choose a job you love doing!
